Richard Hynes

Richard has over 20 years of experience in financial services and investment banking, in roles at tier one firms including JP Morgan, Citi and HSBC, responsible for multi asset brokerage relationships and trading costs.

Through his experience, he has developed unparalleled insight into the complexities of trading operations and cost optimization across major financial institutions, as well as building deep relationships across all levels up to C Suite at some of the largest banks and asset managers in the world. 

He has spent the last five years working in partnership with PwC in their deals division, leading client engagements across multiple verticals including post deal transformation and cost optimisation, fund administration and management, and value creation / realisation. 

As Founder and director of RyHab Capital he brings detailed and strategic focus on client experience, deal execution, and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

Alex Barkley

Alex brings a blend of experience in venture capital, strategic partnerships, and business leadership to his role as Strategic Advisor. Since co-founding Lancero Capital Partners in 2023, he has focused on identifying and executing investment opportunities across secondary markets and private capital, with a particular interest in underappreciated assets and founder-led businesses.

Prior to Lancero, Alex spent nearly four years at HSBC Ventures, progressing from Portfolio Manager to Head of Strategic Partnerships. During this time, he was responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of investments and developing strategic alliances to support growth across key sectors. His work spanned investment evaluation, corporate development, and ecosystem engagement.

Alex is also a founding member of The Lombard St Coffeehouse, a community focused on thoughtful dialogue across finance, policy, and journalism. He advises several early-stage companies, including Koa Collective, and serves as an Infantry Soldier in the British Army Reserve..

As Strategic Advisor to RyHab, Alex draws on his investment background, collaborative approach and global network to support long-term growth.

The RyHab Story

Richard and Alex first crossed paths as colleagues at HSBC in 2017, bonding over their contrasting world views, a shared disdain for corporate authority, and the unfortunate experience of being forced to share bunk beds during a team building exercise in Wales.

As their careers took different trajectories, Alex diving into Venture Capital and fundraising, Richard into pre and post-deal consultancy, their friendship endured. When the UK finally emerged from the Covid fog, the idea for a new venture took shape through an opportunity to do something different in Private Equity. Their founding principle? We just want to do good deals with good people.

RyHab exists to cut through the overcomplicated structures that plague the Private Equity world. We're here to, create genuine opportunities for our investors and sellers by connecting direct clients to the private market industry, have some fun while we're at it, and focus on what we do best: client-friendly solutions to complex problems in the world of Private Equity.

Because frankly, the industry could use a bit more honesty and a lot less pretension.
